Taste: Sweet malts and red fruits slide down your tongue like velvet, with an oaky vinous character and strong biscuit flavour following. Hints of clean herbal hoppy bitterness and umami join in, with a light peppery spiciness lingering on the tongue.

2020 bottle from Livonia Liquor. Pours a deep brown to black with almost no head. Lovely aromas of bourbon, vanilla and oak alongside licorice, redcurrant and smoky tobacco notes. Smooth and silky texture on the palate with muted carbonation. More notes of vanilla, dark chocolate and smoke with bourbon and red fruits. This is stellar at 5 years old now. Great stuff from Pohjala!

Bottle @ home. Practically black body under a small beige head. Strong and nice aroma of dark malt, coffee, licorices and alcohol. Taste is sweet dark malt, coffee, licorices and warming alcohol. Nice body with long lasting aftertaste. A really nice and robust imperial porter.

Bottled (thanks Mats!). Deep brown to black colour with a small beigeish brown head. Aroma is nutty, some toasted tones, warming alcohol, some caramel, fudge and some wooden and vanillaish tones. Flavour is pretty much the same elements woven together really nicely. Pleasantly balanced.

BD 21012020. Very dark brown, small head of lighter brown foam. Smells malty, some roast, treacle, dark chocolate. Creamy, smooth, not too thick. Some sharp carb. Taste is super roasty, haevy bitter, coffee, some boozyness. Very strong flavour, but nice.
