One of Elgood's Seasonal range. New Blackberry Porter is a rich dark Porter, with juicy blackberry aroma. The sweet fruity blackberry complements the roast malt flavours. Perfect, like it's Plum sibling, for the cold winter months.

Cask @ The Hoops, Barton. Dark brown/black with a small beige head. Aroma of blackberries and roasted malts. Taste of of blackberries, roasted malts and chocolate. Tangy, sweet and sour. Low bitterness. Low carbonation. Well there was no chance that I wouldn’t try a blackberry-flavoured beer but one pint was definetely more than enough.

Cask @ Percy Shaw, Halifax. Dark clear reddish-brown with a creamy off-white head. Its fruit is dominant in aroma and taste and dry in the latter, and is slightly subdued for it. There’s a mild sweetness and a bitter finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 29/10/2021. Dark brown beer, with a medium-sized, off-white, head. Plenty of bramble character throughout, yet avoiding excessive sweetness, with a solid malt base. Pretty good.

Cask pint at the White Swan JDW, Solihull. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a mostly lasting frothy off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, light blackberry. The flavour is light liqourice bitter, with a light, slightly watery, light tart blackberry palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at The Moon on the Hill (Wetherspoons), Harrow. A very dark ruby/brown coloured pour with a medium creamy beige head on top. Blackberry, dark fruity aroma and taste with a slight sweetness. It's quite thin but also rather enjoyable.

Cask @ JDW Montgomery's Tower. Very nice. Pours dark, loose bubbles atop. Pleasant Blackberry influence on the nose, integrated well to taste, nicely balanced, smooth, distant roast, not too sweet. Nice.
