One of Elgood's Seasonal range. New Blackberry Porter is a rich dark Porter, with juicy blackberry aroma. The sweet fruity blackberry complements the roast malt flavours. Perfect, like it's Plum sibling, for the cold winter months.

Cask at Picture House, Stafford. Pours a dark reddish brown with a medium sized cream head. Has a strong aroma of blackberries which carries through into the mouth. The testure there is slightly creamy and there are also flavours of wine gums (red & black) on a malty base, plus hints of vanilla and plums. Finish is fruity. A nice fruit beer but very little stout / porter characteristics.

On cask at the Guildford Arms. Appearance - deep brown to black. Some off white head. Nose - blackberry and light smoke. Taste - black fruits again. Light smoke going into molasses. Palate - verging on tart. Tangy and light to medium bodied. Dry almost tart finish. Overall - the fruit seems to make it lighter in texture and less porter like.

Gravity cask at the Real Ale Classroom, Leicester. Brownish indigo, slightly translucent with the tiniest swirl of white head. Light berry notes with a little bit of milk chocolate in the aroma. Sweet taste, full of wild blackberry notes: this is delicious. Some slightly astringent hoppy bitterness on the finish. Flat body. Lovely.
