Pours a brown colour with a small beige head. Aroma is plum and not much else, sweet sticky plum jam. A moderately sweet taste, quite dry, fruity plum and dark malt flavours with some bitter chocolate and earthy bitterness in a dry finish.

Cask at Lord Burton, Burton on Trent. Pours a dark reddish brown with a small cream head and good lacing. Has an aroma of dark fruits but not specifically plums. In the mouth the texture is juicy with plenty of plum flavours along with malts and berry fruits. Finish is sweet and plummy. Plenty of plums here, but it’s a much lighter beer than the Titanic one, and all the better for it.

Bottle from Beers of Europe (I think). Appearance - black with red chinks, like cola really. fluffy head that's almost fawn. Nose - massive plum note on opening. And even close up, the aroma is virtually all plum and none of the expected porter notes. Taste - big plum jam thing, with some roast and chocolate at the back. Palate - creamy and medium bodied. Tangy/roasty finish. Overall - I liked it.

Bottle from Cambridge Wine Merchants - Kings Parade. Finisher on the train home after a great day out in Cambridge! Poured dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of plum, chocolate and malt. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Decent finisher.

Cask at Ye Olde Sun, St Neots. Purplish brown with a thin but impressive creamy head. Scent of plums (go figure), but also the chocolate/liquorice aromas one might expect from a porter. The taste in an ambrosial sweetness, kept in check by a gritty bitterness. Medium body, a bit of carbonation on the lips. A good beer, very well balanced and recommended.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. A murky plummy brown clour with a loose beige head; fruity plum aroma; fruit sweet dessert plum taste with some underlying chocolate malts; and a sweet lingering chocolate finish with more sweet plums. Satisfying.
