Golden-amber. Malty-caramel nose with notes reminiscent of glossette raisins. Caramel taste, some bready notes. Hop dryness towards the finish. Thin body. Lacks focus.

Hazy golden beer, with a slight copper tint - aroma of wildflowers steeped in honey, with a bit of spicy hops, and some noticeable diacytel, but it doesn’t detract too much from the enjoyment - the flavor has some honey character, but it is not nearly as sweet as the aroma suggests, and the diacytel is not present at all - on top of the mellow sweetness, some soft herbal, tea-like flavors, mildly spicy hops, some doughy character - notes of wildflowers linger, and the hops add a bite at the end - this is a damn fine maibock, and another surprise from Otter Creek.

Appearance: Pours with light copper color, completely lucid with a small head.
Aroma: Mix of macro-corn, dirty earth maltiness, underneath that grassy strong hops.
Taste: toasty, earthy maltiness with more strong and interfering grassiness.
Palate: Light beer with a slightly above average carbonation, dry in a bad way.
Overall: uninteresting, a bad mix of malt and hops. 22oz bottle, Hobgoblin tulip glass.

Poured a transparent bronze, honey color with a creamy looking head that faded quick. Nose is subtle, but very appealing with malt, spice, yeast, honey and biscuit all meshing. Flavor is complimentary with malts, biscuit, honey, sweet orange all in the mouth. Finish is clean and sweet, no hint of the heavier than usual alcohol.

Slightly hazy copper coloured body with a smallish off-white head on top. Aroma of fresh hops, apricots, wheat, oranges, metal and a tiny bit of malt. Medium-bodied; Nice strong hoppy flavour up front showing herbal/grassy characteristics, then fading to a good malt flavour with a metallic kick. Aftertaste shows the bitterness from both of these with a good citrus taste going on as well. Overall, an actually great beer - one that surprised me, especially after having some of the other beers in this series. I’d definitely recommend this beer to others, especially if you like Bocks. I sampled this 65 cL bottle, purchased from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 12-May-2007.
