Notes from May 2009 Part of a mixed six I picked up somewhere in the city. I haven't seen it here before. Shelf was fully stocked, so I'm assuming it's all fresh. Crispy, clear, & vibrantly gold. An inch of thinning egg white froth. Poured into my DFH tumbler. Smell is of hot tin & carmelization, as well as mild wheat. A little white bread on the end, as well as an attic-like stuffiness. Tastes like a very mild pale. Just a touch of tart graininess throughout, with some salt & citric acid on the end, trailing dry. A refreshing spritzer, with just an inch of wheat lending body. Carbonation is stiff, alcohol is fine right where it is. Price surely must be better upstate, as I payed $11 for the privilege down here.

Pours with big foamy head and a clear apple juice color (stole that description from HogTownHarry) with ample visible bubbles of carbonation. Very strong head that takes a long time to subside but the lacing is not sticky. Aroma is very sharp and crisp with German-esque floral hops and touches of caramel sweetness. Some present malt biscuit in there as well. Taste is again sharp from the carbonation and a floral/grassiness that’s so refreshing. A light body but NOT a water-y mouthfeel, which is medium bodied with a strong stinging carbonation. The flavor finishes with a light bitterness and a bubbling at the back of the throat. So refreshing, quaffable, and returnable, I don’t know what it is about this brewer but I seem to like most of their stuff and the rest of the raters do not agree. 12oz bottle, Hopfen-Weisse straightened weizen glass.

Hazy golden ale with a thin creamy white head, ot much carbonation left. Aroma of sweet honey and lemon cough drops, chemical. In mouth, the honey is very much in your face, a bit too much even, due to the rather light body. Not a complete waste, Ill cook shrimps with the rest of the beer.
