33 cl bottle. Pours red with a small pink head. Aroma is almondish and cherry. Citric, dry cherry and light fruity. Smooth fruity and mild citric finish.

Old school (but relatively new) top-fermented cherry beer with actual cherries from Haspengouw. Off-pinkish, stable head over a brownish, dark red beer. Aroma indeed reveals actual cherries, brambleberry, blackcurrant, some caramel, some sour cream, faint spicy hints. Very fruity taste, genuine cherries and cherry juice, very fresh and authentic, only lightly sweetened (sugary grenadine touch) but nowhere too artificial, quite strong carbo, lightly sourish finish. Authentic, artisanal, honest cherry beer like there once were many more. Nice.

Bottle sample @ ZBF’13 shared with the RB Belgian crew. Served way too cold.

Pink-purple head, dark mauve beer. Curry herbs, bread, ureum... and very little fruit in the nose. Cherries arrive in the flavour, (real) cherries-laden icecream, as something serve in an exclusive Milanese icecream parlour. Rich... Very carbonated, fruitslickness. Unfortunately served a little too cold to observe all flavours optimally. Nice. I wonder about the nose - might have been the glass, rather than the beer by default.

33 cl. bottle sampled @ ZBF 2013. Dark reddish with a thick, beautiful dark pink head. Nose is like sweet kriek fi that is a real thing, sweet fruit, berries, dark cherries and very light tartness, cheaper jam,… Taste is still moderately sweet cherries & maybe hint of kriek as well, fizzy carb spoils the taste a bit for me, sweet jam, smallest hint of tart, cheap jam, small dash of grenadine, not getting much sourness in here, red berries. Okay, could have been way worse. A real kriek for me is still a lambic.

27/IV/13 - 33cl bottle @ Zythos Bierfestival (2013-395) Thanks to the Belgian ratebeer crew for sharing our beers today!

Clear deep red beer, creamy pink head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: bit sweet, chloride, red berries, cherry jam. Mf: lots of carbon, medium to light body. Taste: sour start, chloride, red berries, little sweet, fruity. Aftertaste: pretty sour, cherries, some chloride, bitter. Pretty decent for a kriek, it has enough acidity, but misses the complexity of kriek based on lambic.
