Bottle at SBWF, October 6, 2011. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, some notes of bourbon and wood. The taste was smooth with a good body and rather balanced. But I prefer the regular one.

Tasting at Papsø
Black color, brownish head. The aroma is mild, it’s soapy in the front, with light bourbon vanilla. Good roasted malt flavor, coffee, evident liquorice, light whiskey-bourbon touch, alcohol burning feeling. Chaotic, not as strong as expected.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma with weak hints of bourbon. Smooth roasted malty chocolate and bourbon flavor. Has a smooth roasted malty chocolate finish with woody bourbon hints in the aftertaste.

Bottled @ home. Dark color, short brown head, some lacing left. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee, sweet bourbon, soft vanilla, cherry pits, hint of oak wood, vinous. Roasted taste, dry, bitter, bit sweet, boozy. Big stuff.

Bottle, kindly shared by Meilby. Looking almost perfect, with its pitch black body and dense, brown head. Lacking a bit on height and longeviety though. Slightly boozy on the nose, with mocha, roasted malts, black coffee and hints of vanilla. The flavor is sweet, with mocha and hints of vanilla and alcohol. Full-bodied, rather flat and quite warming. Roasted finish with an evident alcohol warmth and flavor. Definitely a nice sipper, although I prefer the regular BGB. 110202

Shared 0.5l bottle. Pours a black body with decent bubbly and creamy milk-chocolate head. Aroma is smooth with light bourbon and deep coffee/espresso, light salty, mocha and some sweet vanilla. Really full-bodied, quite low on the carbonation and has a really nice thick, creamy and chewy texture. Flavors are vanilla, strong roasted malts, a subtle bourbon hint and light roasted wood. It also has a light oaky and sour twist just before the finish. Warming finish and long lasting sweet and roasted aftertaste. The alcohol is just so well integrated in the brew. Really nice!

Bottle. Nice aroma, notes of vanilla and chocolate and a little smoke. Chocolte, smoke and black currant in the aroma, honey-like sweetness. Coffee beans in aftertaste. Reminds me of Kaggen.

/11/12/12//12
