Arend Tripel is a golden, blond delicious tripel with an ageable hoppy scent, a silken mouthfeel; a subtle malty taste, a delicate bitterness of hops and a delicious aftertaste with a surprising fruitiness without being overly sweet. It has a very balanced and enjoyable bitter finish that lingers briefly.

5th Feb 2015: on draught at Bruges Beertje. Cheers Daisey for having it on, I had two glasses thanks. Golden orange body with a white head, looked good, the head staying a while before retreating into the beer or evaporating all together. Smooth, malty front with an alcoholic kick in the tail. Decent but not really interesting: I had two because I had never seen it on tap before and I did enjoy the first one enough to want another of course.

Bottle, thanks SirLimpsalot. Hazy dark golden with a fluffy white head. Aroma and taste of malt, fruit, light berries and yeast. Also some citrus. Fairly fresh and not that heavy.

Bottle from Kiya. Orange-golden color, hazy, high head. Nose of stone fruits, bread or biscuits, oranges. Malty, sweet flavor, furity, bready, lightly hoppy bitterness. A typical tripel, ok but boring.

Bottle. Dusty/minerally spicy orangepeel nose. Golden, fine pearling, creamy golden. Minerals, light spice, a hint fermented fruit - apples, dry orange peel, caramel, leafy, grassy finish. Medium body mellow mouthfeel.

The tripel in this completely superfluous range, launched some time after the blond and the dubbel. Thick, off-white, creamy, stable head, colour a deep peach blonde, misty. Nose gets orange peel, peaches, soap, rose water, vanilla, pineapple, gin, dried ginger, field flowers, some whisky. Taste a soft fruity sweetness with a refreshing citrus accent, honey- and caramel-like malt ’substrate’, finish a bit phenolic, mild flowery hops and warming alcohol. Probably the best of the Arends, but still a forgettable cliché tripel.
