Arend Tripel is a golden, blond delicious tripel with an ageable hoppy scent, a silken mouthfeel; a subtle malty taste, a delicate bitterness of hops and a delicious aftertaste with a surprising fruitiness without being overly sweet. It has a very balanced and enjoyable bitter finish that lingers briefly.

In Leuven at the ZBF. Yellow clear unfiltered appearance, white tick foamy head. Quite anonymous nose: little notes of fresh wheat harvest. Fantastic mouth! Complexity of fresh notes, flowers, yeast and a gentle ending hint of sourness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

20 July 2018. At 't Brugs Beertje. Cheers to Maarten!
Rerate of this 'classic' Tripel. Pours clear yellow with a lasting, frothy, white head; little lacing. Sweetish aroma of banana, almost bubblegum, honey, caramel, white sugar, soap, grass, hay, apricot, some yeast. It tastes medium fruity sweet, hints of banana & apricot, and light grassy bitter, somewhat yeasty & bready. Dryish, grassy hoppy finish, lingering honey & white bread, a dash of warming jenever alcohol. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Perfectly acceptable Abbey Tripel, nothing more.

33cl bottle pour at Maxβs Belgian Fest 2014. Pours a hazy dark orange with some very frothy white head. Nose is very bready, a little malt, a little acid, yeasty, a bit feety. Flavor is malty, bready, cheesy, a little wet burlap, herbs, grainy. Heavy finish.

Aroma is spicy, peppery, yeasty. Strong carbonation. Initial earthy malts then more typical sweet, spicy Tripel flavours. Luckily itβs not too sweet. Itβs quite crisp and refreshing.

Sampled draft @ Modeste 2013. Clear orange with little white head; Smells herbal with plenty of candy sugar, biter spices and an overbearing sweetness. Taste is bitter floral & herbs upfront, followed by a huge amount of candy sugar, pretty sweet, white bread & white sugar BE yeas, some herbal & floral character in the back, oily sweet candy & toffee malts in the middle. Thick toffee & cereal body. Agreeable but not exiting BE tripel.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hogerdijk, Culemborg. Hazy orange with a dense white head. Fruity aroma with some apricots. Taste is bittersweet but with a slighty biting alcohol aftertaste, which I donβt enjoy. Decent tripel but a bit off
