Guava Grove is a farmhouse ale that sees a secondary fermentation on one of Tampa’s favored fruits, guava. Pairs well with fresh fish, mussels, fresh tropical fruits, and earthy cheeses.

Pours a cloudy orange color with a lasting white head. The aroma is complex, sweet, sour and fruity. Tart and funky flavor. I don’t sense any hops here, just the Belgian yeasts adding a tart side to this one. Lively and light. Not fully sour, but well on it’s way. Very enjoyable.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Pours slightly hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, orange and malt. Fruity and citric, not as sweet as expected, but some bitterness. Medium carbonation.

Bottle at home. Pours a hazy amber colour with huge off-white head, like egg white. Aromas of sour bitter berries not far from flemish sour ale. The flavour is a bit fruitier with berries and hops. Its more like the aromas towards the end with the sour bitter berries. Ive never tasted guava, but I suspect this sourness are coming from this fruit. Hint of alcohol and a somewhat dry ending. Medium bitter and slick and a some watery mouthfeel. This beer doesnt remind me of a typical saison but more a flemish sour ale. Anyway, its a tasteful and pleasant ale.

Mycket belgisk jästkaraktär som drar åt banahållet. Söt, fruktig, lätt syrlig men ingen guavasmak. God, välbalanserad och riktigt god.

0.75l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This one pours a light blurry golden copper body with a nice big and lasting just off-white head. Leafy, light sweetish and fruity-like aroma with hints of yeast, cacti and tropical melon. Average carbonated with a smooth texture in the mouth. I like the flavors; they are light fruity with tones of citrus, some acidic twitches towards the finish mixed with leafs and hints of yeast. Yeah, quite different and actually quite good. Don't beleive I've tasted guava before, but this flavor can remind me a bit of papaya. 30.01.2012

Blond with a very slight haze. Yeasty, lightly guava-accented aroma and the palate is similar. Spicy, yeasty notes. Complex beer - fun, spicy and dry, with a gentle fruit accent. Good stuff.

From the 2/2012 3R6P tasting. +++ Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy orange-amber color with a large foamy yellow-white head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sweet and yeasty with pepper and a bit of guava. The flavor was tangy and sweet with moderate tropical fruits, sugar and bread. The finish was long and tangy with lingering tropical fruits. Moderately full bodied. Solid.

750 ml bottle bought through Brill & Co. Pours deep golden with a white head that leaves no trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sweet with old hay, farmyard, sweet fruits and lemon peal. Taste is sweet and full bodied with candy sugar, sweet fruits like plums mandarin oranges and of course guava, lemon zest, hints of farmyard and spices. Finish is sweet and fruity with farmyard hints. Re-rate @ Timos CCB Day tasting on July 7. Sweet, fruity, estery smell. Very sweet and fruity taste. Not the kind of Saison I prefer nowadays but will keep my original score.

Bottle, 75cl, at Patricks. It pours a big, white head over an unclear, orange body. The aroma is on the fruity side, with a distinct hoppyness and some white sugar and alcohol. The flavor blends sweetness and bitterness, incorporating alcohol, fruityness and some alcohol. It’s full-bodied and lightly warming, with pleasant carbonation. A really pleasant one, well worth a revisit or two. 120121
