On tap @ Borefts 2013. A cloudy wood brown one with a small bubbly top. Smells almost like a pumpkin ale this with a clear spicy and herbal theme all the way. Some nutmeg and a little bit of needles. Strange stuff. It has some alcohol in the taste I tally, but that is quickly settled in between all that spicy flavors. It's light oily in the mouth and about average on the carbonation level. I kinda like the pumpkin thing here, but having a hard time understanding what beer this is And a hard time noticing the 10 percent this beer is supposed to be. Really Interesting for sure and actually quite good tasting for a gruit. 27.09.2013

Draught @ 5th Borefts Beer Festival 2013, Brouwerij de Molen, Bodegraven, Netherlands. [ As Brewfist Gruit ].Unclear medium to dark amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, spicy, herbal. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, spicy, caramel, light alcohol. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. Bouteille 33cl @ Beer for Bunnies, Bologna. BB 30/09/2016, lot# 3373. De couleur acajou, col crémeux blanc cassé. Arôme offre un bouquet renforcé d’épices et d’herbacé. Note surtout ce côté sauge et camomille fort dominant et qui pour moi sont du plus bel effet. Le malt arrive en rétro-nasal et procure des notes de caramel et grillé qui sont mises en retrait par le bouquet des herbes. Palais était parfait pour moi avec un profil énorme au niveau du jeu des herbes. On note fortement le profil de la sauge et camomille, le tout est ponctué par un côté léger rappelant le gingerbread et le spéculoos. Je me tente même à noter un côté aiguille de pin et de mousse. Un peu belge dans l’approche levure et un malté apportant un caramel crystal un peu pâle et sucre brun. Une bière spéciale, et version de gruit qui perce avec ses 10%. Cette dernière tombe dans la catégorie on aime ou on n’aime pas. Quant à moi, c’est parfait.

No head, just some bubbles. Aroma is slightly sweet fruity, berries, heather, herbs, sap, bark, spruce. Taste is slightly rich fruity, herbs, heather, licorice, spruce, bark, berries, sap, hay. Medium bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Quite nice for being a gruit, but I’d never guess this one was 10%.

Tap at Borefts ’13, 27/09/13 - another sodding gruit - yay ! Hazed pale golden with a thin off white head. Nose is tarte fruit, lemon rind, grass, bitter apricot. Taste comprises peaches, citruc fruit, grassy notes, farmy, earthy. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish. Definately one of the better gruits on offer at BBF ’13 !

Borefts Beer Festival 5. Day 1. Very hazy gold beer, small white head. Light dry palate, minerally crisp. Light floral herbs and a little citrus. Light dry finish. Drinks well below it’s abv but I still found this chewy. Didn’t have the lightness of the other gruits at the fest.

From tap. Pours hazy amber with a small whitehead. Aroma is fruity, spiced and herbal. Sweet, bitter, herbal and soapy. Dry and spiced finish.
