Abbiamo pazientemente aspettato qualche anno, e finalmente è pronta. Ispirati alle Flemish Red e all’Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale, siamo partiti dalla Saba, il tradizionale mosto cotto Emiliano, e l’abbiamo lasciata in botte a sviluppare la sua spiccata acidità acetica. Una birra importante e complessa, per la cui immagine ci siamo affidati all’amico Antonio Bravo che ci ha regalato una sua personale visione del “Vecchio Bruno” in giro per Parma… vogliamo pensare sia la capostipite dello stile Sour Emilian Red Ale.

Black brown colour, beige head. Aroma of caramel, red wine, balsamico, red fruits. Sweet and sour flavour, cherries, red fruits, caramel. Somewhat sour finish, wood, red fruits and wine. Balanced, nice brew!

From bottle. Pours clear and golden brown with a deep golden orange glare, no head. Aroma is fruity, wineous and oaky. Mild bitter and smooth fruity. Mellow. Lingering fruity finish.

Borefts 2013 - Fruity red wine aroma. Quite a sour, woody aroma. Taste is smooth with lightly sour red fruits.

Sampled @ Borefts 2013. Clear red color, no head. Smell toasted malts, lightly bread, slightly herbs, sourish, a bit winey. Taste lightly malts, slightly sweet, slightly fruitpeel, a hint of bitter, slightly metallic, dried fruits, grape peel. Watery texture, average body and carbonation.

Tasted @ Borefts ’13. Brown colour with no head. Smells sour, cherry, fresh and fruity. Tastes vanilla, wood, sour and quite nice. Medium to full body and soft carbo.

bbf 13 pours dark and deep red . no foam . smell is caramel . no carbo, sweetness, wine-barrels, i supose . i was told this was a BA sour ale but i get no sour whatsoever...

75 cl. bottle sampled @ Borefts 2013. Clear dark brown, absolutely zero head. Nose is tart cherry, bit weak, sour malts, vinous, bitter, touch watery. Taste is a bit thin esp. considering the ABV, sweet malts, old fermenting malts, caramel, oily, cherry pits, chestnuts, bit thin & watery, some sourness, bit paint thinner & fresh wood sour in the back. Flat, woody & bit thin, not what it should be.
