Thx! to Kraddel for the bottle. 25 cl. bottle @ home. BBF 21/03/2009 so 2007 Vintage? The last year of production? I have no idea as to when this was discontinued. This is definitely a beer that I never expected to get to try. Hougaerdse Das is a beer that has a long and illustrious history which probably has no relation with the contents inside the bottle since this stuff was made by InBev). Murky fox amber orange with only some white bubbles for a head. Nose is huge oxidation, candy sugar, big oxidation sweetness, musty cellar, spices, raw, slightly soured dough,… Taste is watery mixed with candy sugar, Madeira / wine big oxidation notes, bitter spices, raw sour dough, coriander, musty cellar notes, big old cellar and mineral finish, sparkling mineral water, old rotting lemons & apricots. Watery body. The thing with this beer is that by this point the huge oxidation notes have taken over most of this beer so it is getting hard to tell what this beer even used to be like. On the other hand this is probably more interesting to drink now than it was previously.

Not one of the best from hoegaarden. Coriander orange peel and yeast is a combination that doesn’t work for me I guess.

I really don’t like this beer. Guess the coriander is to blame mostly. Very herby beer, not my thing.

Amber colored, light. Not much taste at all, really. Not much in the way of scent either. A rather boring beer. Not assertive at all. Supposed to be an aromatic beer—is it my runny nose that made me lose my taste buds? I can neither taste nor smell anything here. Maybe a little coriander…It’s not bad, but too clean.

25cl bottle. pours hazy amber, thick white head. Aroma is malty, some spices and floral hops. Taste, spices, orange peel, wheat, light roasted malts and yeasty, coriander finish and lightly bready. Elements of regular Hoegaarden minus the witbier side.

Bottle. Red amber with plenty of yeasty floaters. Aroma of marmalade, butter and spice. Flavour started sweet, before an unpleasant vegetal/herbal edge and savoury malt finish. A bit crude.

Bottle: Cloudy, gushing, big fluffy beige head that slowly collapses; coriander and presumably dark malt in the dusty-grainy nose; light sweetish-sourish flavour, quite soft and light bodied; sourish-grainy finish with some molecular tartness. Not unpleasant at all.......

Copper coloured. Spicy aroma, typical of a Hoegaarden. Easy drinking, full flavour. Lower acidity than a white beer. Coriander and yeasty spiciness. Clean, fresh aftertaste.
