Bottle: Poured a dark brown almost tea color with an off white color head. There is a sweet almost roasty like malt and spice aroma. Nice sweet malt and sugary flavor.

Bottle. Weak aroma, brown sugar. Very dark brown colour. Big, stable, light brown head. Very sweet flavour, a lot of brown sugar here. Thick, syrupy mouthfeel. There is a hint of alcohol flavour, but it would need a lot more to balance the sugar.

(bottle) Dark brown colour with a small creamy beige head. Sweet malty nose with yeasts, caramel and vanilla. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied, smooth carbonated. Initially sweet malty with raisins, dried fruits, sweet malty, slightly bitter finish. Not bad, but I miss the characteristics of a Weizen.

(Bottle 30 cl) Deep amber colour with a fine, dense and creamy head. Full-bodied and (a bit to) sweet with caramel and roasted malt. But hasn’t really got very distinct wheaty notes. 171001

Bottled (BB 11/2005)
Dark nut brown, quickly vanishing brown head. Dark malty and toffeeish nose. Sticky sugary palate with roasted barley flavor. Some alcohol. Very (too) sweet and quite simple.

(Rather aged sample) Deep chestnut, fully clear; thick yellowish head, but fast reduced to coloured rim. Nose is nutty, madeirisated notes, but I still get wheat. On top - or under, or throughout - caramel syrup, chestnut flour. Very sweet taste, syrupy, much like some grain-based cookies. Oxidation characteristics much less in evidence than in the nose. Rather empty mouthfeel (texture), though there is some body. Aftertaste has some vague bitterness, more dark malt-related than hoppy. I keep getting something like a cheap syrupy rum-flavouring for pancakes or pastry. Both the identification of the wheat in the nose, and the absence of anything else than the syrup in the taste puzzle me. Not very convincing.

An amber beer with a little head. It has a slightly sour aroma. The flavor is soft of a good malt blend and slightly prickling- I cannot taste the wheat which it should be brewed on. A very good beer - I definatly want to try this again.

Chestnut brown, very little head. Mindboggingly sweet with syrupy mouthfeel and mellow body. Sugary finish.
