Hazy brown with soapy head. Aroma has sweet, dried fruits. Flavour is spicy and yeasty. Quite a lot of bitterness coming from the yeast. Rough feel, heavy carbonation.

Bottled from speciaalbierpakket.nl, ABV 8.4% batch 20120106b BB 02-03-2015 (so more than 2 years old), large sample, served in a trappist glass. Initially clear ruby color, medium lasting rocky light brown head, leaving thick lacing. Aroma of lots of cookie, biscuit and caramel, slight hint of raisin, bit fruity, slight sweet candy, hint of spicy yeast. Great belgian strong ale style. Taste has some licorice dryness with some slight sweetness, bit salty. The cookie is completely blown away in taste unfortunately, as that was the part I loved in the aroma. Finish is a bit dry. Soft to meduim carbonation though, full bodied. Looks are fantastic, aroma is wonderful, the flavor cannot live up to that unfortunately.

Bottle from Biernavigatie. Poured a clear dark amber with a frothy off-white head. The aroma is resin hop, yeast, light malt. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a rich woody hop alcohol bitter liqourice bubbly palate. Medium to full bodied with lively carbonation. Lots going on and plenty of life.

(Bottle, Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 27 July 2013) Dark reddish brown colour with huge, dense, beige head. Malty, slightly smoky nose with notes of caramel, dark fruit, asphalt and dark bread. Malty taste with dark fruit, caramel, asphalt, a touch of smoke and a certain spicy bitterness. Almost full body, with a touch of sweetness. Quite complex and a bit weird. Quite nice though.

33 cl. bottle @ home – purchased online. Dark brown with a big beige head if poured to vigorously. Smells of overripe fruits, plastic, caramel, bitter coffee & strong liquorice. Tastes of overripe fermenting dark fruits, strong hop bitterness, quite bitter cold coffee with liquorice, raw, sweet, dark fermenting grapes, fermented berries & dark fruits, alcohol, coffee grounds. Solid body. Severe, there is something interesting brewing over the border. 8.9 % ABV
