Bottled, 75cl champagne cork. It pours slightly unclear, reddish brown, with a nice thick off-white head. Sweet aroma with beef-stock, tea, candi, hops and spices. Candi-sweet flavor with tea, cardamom and other spices. Full-bodied beer that leaves you very satisfied, like the other Gouden Carolus beers. (061229)

[Bottled, thanks oh6gdx] Cloudy nut brown. Strong aniseed aroma. Sweet and very spicy. Delightful soft, deep malt character with plenty of caramel and cloves. Interesting and extremely malty beer, but perhaps overy spicy. Licorice and aniseed overpowers the malt flavour.
