Bottle sampled @ decadent symmetry tasting. Thanks to Martinus for this retired rarity! Cloudy orange color with lace. Small carbonation. Nose of oranges, grass, light malt. Humongous apricot flavor, like fresh squeezed juice almost, pineapple, orange, amazing fruit flavors. Low carbonation, very refreshing. Never had an aged IPA like this before. Fabulous. Want to try it fresh some day.

33 cl. unlabeled bottle sampled @ decadent symmetry tasting. Thx! for this one Martinus. 2011 Vintage presumably going by the rating. Pours hazy orange with a white head. Nose is rounded fruits, tangerines, candied fruits, berries, the hops have lost their bite but in return you get a lot of mellow & round fruits. Surprisingly good actually. Taste is bitter herbs, caramel, touch candy sugar, orange peel, dried apricots, tangerines, very bitter grass in the back. Less carb. If you have a good base, sometimes an IPA can age nicely as this one evidently did, still I was quite taken about as to just how good this was.

Tap @ In De Wildeman (from notes, this was ABT beer of the Month). Blond color, hazy. Firm white head, good lace. Aroma’s of citrus, a bit sweet & sour fruit. Flavor is medium bitter. Medium bodied. Finishes with a firm bitterness. Maybe not so original, but nice enough.

Tap @ Ledig Erf. Slight hazy golden color, medium white head. Aroma is quite hoppy with a decent malty backbone. Decent bitter taste, with some malty sweetness. Refreshing, where the cascade gives the necessary character to the beer.

Ronald of DDvdK was nice enough to share with us a bottle of his newly made IPA, Oud Schaterhand, soon to be Beer of the month in the ABT cafes. Orange golden, slightly hazy, firm foam head. Aroma of fresh citrus, grapefruit and sweet malts. Floral, acacia honey. Nice tone of American hops. Rather sweet flavour, malts, pomelo, hops. Full bodied, some honey sweetness and pleasant fresh bitterness. Lots of citrus. Long, dry bitter finish. Astringent, but without any coarse bitterness. (from bottle)
