Bottle shared by JK, thanks! Pours a clear deep copper with a white head that starts and remains at the edges. Aroma has a nice bread with a sweet grain backbone and a bit of caramel underlying. Flavor has a nice sweet bread and caramel note with some toffee and a hint of cookie.

12oz bottle poured into small Hill Farmstead glass. This has most of the trappings of this style. Aroma is fruity, astringent, fruity cherry, and alcohol. Flavor is astringent slicky malts. Just a thin, industrial beer with all the offputting qualities one can put into a barleywine. Glowing rose amber color.

Draft/Fest. A- Caramel, malty. A- Copper color, clear liquid, white head. T- Mild bitterness, boozy, caramel malts. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bland finish. O- Quite mild and underwhelming. I expect a lot more complexity from Summit, especially for an anniversary beer. Not bad just pretty flavorless.

Bottle at Lucky’s. Hazy dark, amber, flat. Aroma is malt and grapes. Taste brings a little sweetness, alcohol becomes apparent but not overpowering. Malty, true to the English style. Super that slowly builds to a crescendo.

Brown beer, low carbonation which is fine for a barleywine, so not much head at all and there is lottle to write aboit the appearance. Immediately the aroma is noticeably more malt forward than the other recent Summit barleywine, and the flavor is noticeably sweeter. Hop presence is medium, drying this beer oit especially as it warms. Thick, heavy palate, and just getting through one took aome time. Good.
