Bottle from 2 be in Brugge. Pours hazy amber/copper with a creamy 2 finger near-beige head. Aromas of light pitted fruits and mild spice. Near med body. Flavor is light spiced fruit - more towards dark fruit than the aroma suggested. Falls somewhere between apple pie and pumpkin pie. With a little malt tagging along. But the spice is very low key - a pie with this low level would not be tasty. Works in this beer though.

25cl bottle.

Bottle @ home. Standard clear golden color. Smell wheat, grains and light spicy. Taste malts, grains, little sour. Not bad for a spice/herb/vegetable beer, but not something I’d have again soon.

Slightly orange tinted golden body with a nice thick white head and a trillion bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma of strong malt, a touch of light hops and a little dry hay and grass. Medium-bodied; Light hop and malt flavour with a dry grassy and sweetness near the end. Aftertaste shows some light hay, a little apple sweetness and some subdued dryness at the very end. Overall, a decent beer - mild, but showing some good and class throughout. I sampled this 25 cL bottle purchased from Cracked Kettle in Amsterdam, The Netherlands on 03-January-2011 for €1,63 sampled later in the day at my hotel room in Amsterdam.

bottle@Pater’s Vaetje: unusual glass, light malts, hint of caramel, floral hops, bitter end laced with spices, bit average but enjoyable, great if you like spice’s

750ml corked bottle. Hazy, translucent brownish-amber. Big head that fades out within a minute. The aroma has some spice, but mostly yeasty amber malt. Soft on the palate, this is a relatively straightforward Belgian Amber. A little suspect age-wise, as I scooped this one up for a whopping $3.49. Rather mellow on the spice, more dominated by the pungent, fruity amber malt. Certainly underwhelming for a Belgian beer. Potentially too old for it’s own good, who knows. Not recommended.
