Zythos Bierfestival 2012, Leuven, Belgium. It pours mahogany with deep ruby red edges and supporting a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up funk and some metal rolling into yeasty sourness and vinegar. The taste is funky and gravel road followed by funky yeast and slivers of cherry skins and almost a metallic like earthiness. The faint metal I seem to be getting does not detract from the experience.

Dark chocolate brown colour. Aroma has malt, wood and sour red fruits. Flavour is sharp, sour red fruits. Although watery it has an unusual creamy finish.

draft @ ZBF 2012 // dark brown with a slightly tanned head // smells like unpleasantly sweet overripe berries & malts, tad fermenting berries & fruits // taste sweet, way too sweet in the usual overly sweet sour way, rotting malts, sewer, dark sugar, berries, toasted malts // medium bodied // not my type of sour

15cl sample @ ZBF’12.

28/IV/2012 - draft @ ZBF 2012 (Leuven) - BB: n/a (2012-429)

Clear red brown to dark brown beer, small yellwoisch head, little stable. Aroma: overripe to rotten fruits, dirty sour smell, sewers, something is very off with this. MF: ok carbon, light to medium body. Taste: little sour, mainly some metallic bitterness, some mocha. Aftertaste: little sour, rotten fruit, bit of smoke, metallic. Bad example of the style. I desperately needed a Rodenbach Foederbier after this one. :p
