Pale colored and cloudy, like a witbier should be. Just a hint of citrus in the somewhat spicy aroma. A bit detergent-like. Somehwat tart, lemon flavor, just a bit sharp, but also creamy. Dry in the throat.

Pours like a sparkling wine with straw blond colour and fizzy head. Aroma and flavour have mild grains. Some floral notes and sweet apple too.

Gul lett tåkete med fingerhøyt hvitt skum. Lukter sitrus, sitron og korn. Lett. Kornete, noe syrlig mot epler. Kort.

One of the first spelt beers in Belgium, a style that should be considered as a variation on witbier. A lot of study seems to have preceded this and since then, quite a number of other breweries have adopted spelt as an optional grain to make beer with. Joseph has a darker colour than a regular witbier, misty, with a tart aroma, doughy, spicy, grassy and floral, and a sourish spelt taste (sharper than wheat sourishness and more ’wild’ in some ways) with subdued fruit, bready malts and grassy hops in the finish. Tasteful thirst-quencher with different character.

Bottle from Sugaya. Very cloudy, pale yellow, fine lacy head. Very interesting nose, spicy grains, lemon, yogurt. Light and airy. Lemony flavor, lactic, slightly spicy. interesting, summery, and nice.
