A Belgian ’saison-style’ ale brewed with cocoa powder and chili pepper? Ay, Caramba! Score another first for the unpredictable brewery that was the first -- and so far the only - brewery to make ales out of dandelions and mushrooms, among other things.

75 cl. bottle poured in to a Tulip. Hazy, golden-amber with a big, dense white head. Fruity aroma with earthy yeasts, a discrete burn from chili peppers, maturing fruits, light cocoa, pale malts and a pepper note. Taste is bitter. Medium body with a creamy texture and a lively carbonation. Finishes bitter and dry with fruits, earthy yeasts, spices and light chillies. Complex, bitter. Good.

Hazy amber/orange colour. Medium carbonation. Weird beer. Sour and bitter, almost no sweetness. Aroma of green apple, yeast and hops. I can not detect any chocolat.

Hazy orange colour, beige head. Aroma of caramel, malts, yeast and brett. Sour, dusty flavour, quite weird. Sticky, thick texture, it’s sticking together a bit, like a mild Saccharomyces Viscosus infection. Chocolate? Not even sure this beer has been even near to a cacao bean.

Bottle at Delirium. Deep blonde, low, fine head. Dry, grassy nose, saison-like and also tart. Sour flavor, slightly smoky, grapefruit. Light, with high carbonation. There is no taste or aroma of chocolate at all. Gets richer when the yeast is added. Great stuff. Where’s the chocolat?

28.07.2013, 0,75l bottle @ home:
Thick slightly fizzy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly sour-ish, light malts, shed, sorrel, smoke, spices, chalk, grass. Taste is sour-ish, light malts, sorrel, chalk, apple skin, wood, citrus peel, cheese, grass, smoke. Extremely thick mouthfeel. Not really sure what I think about this one. It’s not fantastic, but it’s still very interesting. But, where is the chocolate?!?

75cl bottle shared by Dutchdrebus. Opaque hazy orange color, medium sized white head. Bad smell. Brett, tart, funky, barnyard, horses. Taste is basically the same. Very thick syrupy texture, almost like snot, average body, low carbonation. Chocolate? No, not even the slightest hint. Sucks.
