75 cl. bottle sampled @ Modeste 2012 - pils malts and american dry-hopping if I remember the brewers explanation correctly - similar to their Hubke but I like this on more - now made by Au Phare - hazy golden with a white head - more aromatic citrus hops, fruitier yeast, grapefruit - mellow citrus taste, BE esters, pale malts, light touch of booze, herbs, bit fuller, more citrus than Hubske - ok but not entirely convinced - medium bodied

12/VI/2012 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: VII/13 (2012-615)

Before opening: lots of yeast is settled at the bottom of the bottle. Clear blond beer, big creamy white head, some big bubbles in it, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet malts, candi sugar, spices (is it coriander?), grassy hops, hay, bit floral. MF: good carbon, medium body. Taste: citric start, bit sour, lots of bitter hops, grassy, some spices. Aftertaste: pretty bitter, grassy, some citrus, little chemical in the end, nice dry finish, alcohol is a little noticeable. With the yeast it gets a bit fruitier, both in aroma and flavours. Also it gets pretty cloudy with quite some chunks in it.

33cl bottle.

Bottle, 75cl corked. It pours a clear, golden body under a white head leaving some lacings. The aroma has cellar hints along with fruits and white sugar. Sugary sweet flavor with quite a lot of fruityness, some spices, and a decent bitterness towards the end. Medium to full body. As for many Belgian beers, it’s a bit sugary, even for my sweet tooth, but it’s a quite nice and easy drinking beer. 100521
