FC Nordsjælland vs. Chelsea FC Champions League football night tasting in Odense, October 2012. Cloudy pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma of grainy malt, DMS and green leaves. Dry and green flavour. It’s ginseng alright, but you eat that for health and not for flavour, right?

33 cl. bottle sampled thx. to Dave @ Bier Central. Clear pale golden with a smaller white head. Belgian yeast on the nose of this one with some pale ginseng as in those ginseng candies aka not particularly enjoyable, floral, light fruits. Bitter of-putting floral taste which is not per se ginseng, quite bitter, flat cheap ice tea, bitter spices, soap, grains, grass, light vegetables. Softer carb. more or less sucks like most things sold at this place.

9/III/2012 - 33cl bottle @ De Heeren van Liedekercke (Denderleeuw) - BB: no markings on the label where they should be (2012-224)

Clear blond beer, small creamy white head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: pretty dusty, dry spices, some banana, sugar. MF: good carbon, light body. Taste: some citrus, toast, hop bitterness, spiciness, green banana, grains, fresh cut grass. Aftertaste: bitter hops, grassy, vegetables. Weird, not great.

11.2 oz bottle-trade with jtclockwork-pours a white head and hazy straw/yellow color. Aroma is ginseng-herbal, light malt/grain, some lemon. Taste is ginseng/herbal, spice hops, sweet light malt/grain. Finishes drying and with effervescence in the throat. I am hoping the bottle he traded to me did not taste the same as the one he had, as our palates tend to pick up similar characteristics.

33 cl bottle @ home. Pale yellow color, hazy. Soapy white head. Aroma’s of sweet fruit, wheat, malt, some ginseng (retronasal). Flavor is fairly neutral, some acidity of the carbonation. Bit watery mouthfeel. Vaguely bitter finish. Interesting if unimpressive.

Bottle. Pours cloudy yellowish gold. White head. Nose is pungent cooked rotten vegetables, trash and compost. Taste is even worse. Cooked vegetables, rotten food, surgical gloves cheap metal, chemicals and medical waste. Foul lingering aftertaste that won’t leave the palate. Two sips and drain poured. I can’t take any more of this. By far the worst drinking experience I’ve ever had and I’ve sampled Bud Chelada.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, pale golden colour with a medium-sized and slightly off-white foamy head. Slightly sweet and sour fruity aroma with a shy spicy touch. Quite bitter flavour with a dry and astringent mouthfeel, light to medium bodied with a mild carbonation. Bitter and astringently spicy (ginger) taste with a fruity touch towards the finish; ginger- and peppery spicy aftertaste. A rather harsh and not very rounded brew. 10.I.11

On tap at Le Bier Circus, Brussels on 13th February 2009. Pale gold, slightly cloudy with large, lasting white head. Complex aroma with delicate ginseng, liquorice and cinnamon notes in equal measure. Dry finish. Pleasant.
