Greetings from Cleveland! Where an infamous river fire rekindled appreciation for our region’s natural resources (like the malt and hops illuminating this Pale Ale).

Bottle. Orange toffee and hay aroma. Golden yellow color with small head. Slightly sweet toffee malt and moderately bitter flavor. Slightly metallic finish. Okay but think this bottle was a bit past it’s prime. / Can (4-24-21). Finally getting around to re-rating this. Orange, toffee malt, and fresh/weedy hay aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Mildly sweet orange, toffee malt, and moderately bitter weedy hay and dry grapefruit peel flavor. Good body. Yeah - this one was better.

Pours a nice coppery-brown. Smallish head. Hops and roasty malt in the aroma and flavor. Rather an earthy, grassy finish.

12oz bottle from Chuck’s poured into a shaker. Pours a light orange with about 1 finger of off-white head. Aroma of citrus hops and some slight yeasty dough. Taste is lightly sweet and medium bitter. Very nice citrus hops with a slight grapefruit taste. Medium bodied with a creamy texture, lively carbonation and a long bitter finish. Overall, very good. Would definitely buy this one again.

12 oz bottle got in a trade with drfabulous. Used a pint. Transparent amber, well carbonated. Lots of thick white head that laced down the glass until the end. Flavor that starts sweet and finishes with light bitterness. Very standard APA. Pretty par for the course.

8/29/2009 Picked this up at Beers of the World on a recent family vacation, I should have picked up more! Pours a clear deep copper/amber color with a bubbly beige head that impales itself to the glass all the way down. Smells of citrus, light sweet fruit, slight mineral. Taste is smooth citrus with a fruity burnt sugar malt sweetness. Great balance! Twinge of hops, bit of malt leaves a hop bite at the end of every sip. Crisp carbonation, sticky, resinous mouthfeel, medium body with a semi dry finish. Great session ale here.

I picked this up at VAS Foremost in Chicago, IL while hanging out with some newly met friends, enjoyed on a chilly Saturday afternoon while watching college football. Great Lakes does it again! Appearance is a rather clear dark amber with a thin white head. Aroma of citrus hops and crisp malt, more malty than hoppy. Taste consists of malt (hint of caramel) and nice citrusy hops, not too carbonated, just right. More malty of a pale ale than what I’m used to but I welcome it. Great Lakes FTW!
