Greetings from Cleveland! Where an infamous river fire rekindled appreciation for our region’s natural resources (like the malt and hops illuminating this Pale Ale).

The Big Hunt, DC tap ($6): Pours a copper color with a white head that leaves no lacing. Aroma of fruitiness and also some caramel malts.Taste is citrusy with some piny hops. Has that characteristic sweetness shared by all Great Lakes brews. But I think that there are a few other fruity flavors in there apart from the citrus. Body is a little thin, but still quite pleasant to drink.

Thanks Tony @ OTH for the share. pours hazy orange, white head. aroma is hoppy with a nice citrus nose, thick caramel malts. flavors, hoppy citrus, not overly bitter and caramel malts, hops blend perfectly with a light malty palate. Finish hs a mild soapy aftertaste. Could easily pass for an IPA. Had this beer side by side with Commodore Perry IPA, and both had much in common.

Tap at Birreria Paradiso in Georgetown. Golden color, thick amber head. Aroma of grass and subtle licorice. Taste is straightforward and lager-like. Uninteresting.

12 oz bottle. Pours orange golden with a white head. Aroma is mostly of citrus hops. Flavor leads with biscuit and grassy hops, with citrus also figuring in strongly. A solid but not great version of a pale ale.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm) Pale amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, floral, hoppy nose with orange peel, grapefruit and grainy malt. Fruity, floral taste with notes of orange peel, grapefruit, grainy malt and fresh hops in the finish. Medium body, fairly dry. Lovely balance between the subtle grainy malt and the citrussy hop character. Nice beer.

Location: 12 oz bottle jcos brought back from Ohio, 9/24/09
Aroma: A nice earthy/pineness dominates the aroma, some citrus too
Appearance: Pours a clear golden-amber color with a small white head
Flavor: A nicely balanced flavor with a some pine hoppiness and a caramel malt backbone
Palate: Mouthfeel is decent, with relatively high amount of carbonation, the body is light-medium
Overall Impression: This is a pretty solid pale ale. Not a world class beer by any means, but enjoyable none-the-less. I could see this being a really enjoyably drinkable beer for those near this brewery.
