(6/31/08) Draught at the brewpub in Bamberg. Cloudy-muddy yellow. Aroma is quite estery with banana and some clove. Sweetish wheaty flavor with some yeast, fruitiness and some clove spiciness. Medium-bodied. Decent.

Bottled. An unclear orange beer with a lazing orange head. The aroma is sweet malty and very wheaty. The flavor is sweet with notes of wheat and citrus, as well as lighter notes of banana, leading to a dry wheaty finish, where the citrusy note lingers.

Slightly hazy, quite carbonated yellowish beer with small whitish head. Freshly cut garden herbs & greenery, discreet hops and definitely wheat, freshly cut grass or nettles. Slightly smoked taste at the beginning, biscuit, malty rather than wheaty in the flavourprofile. Yet, the wheat ends up coming later. Very little fruitiness, even less clove. Light to medium bodied, wheat slickness. Bubblegum in the aftertaste. Rather ubiquitous Hefe.

500ml bottle at Ealing BF 2007. Cloudy gold with lasting beige head. Bit of stale cardboard and green hop on aroma. Some esters. The sediment in suspension sits at the top which is odd. On a wet evening in Ealing it doesn’t quite fit, but a hot summers day in Bamberg, would be wonderful.

(Bottle 50 cl) Hazy, pilsener golden with a nice, off-white head. Distinct banana aroma. Medium-bodied, sweetish with lots of fruit - again the banana esters stand out. Some phenol. 081106

Bottle (purchased at the brewery): Pale golden, rather quickly diminishing fluffy head; fresh citrus-fruity nose with bananas and cloves backstage; sweetish-sourish flavour, lightbodied; wheaty-citrousy finish. A fresh and pleasant Weizen

Bottle. Hazy orange with lasting white head. Fruity nose - little spice, slightly wheaty and clovy aroma. Sweetish body with some malty flavours and a bit of herby hop towards the end which gives a nice finish to the beer.

(bottle) Cloudy yellow colour with a big but non-persistent foamy white head. Banana-fruity, slightly wheaty and clovy aroma. Sweet flavour, wheat-malty, fruity (banana, citrus) taste, light bodied, lively carbonated mouthfeel; slim but balanced fruity and clove-spicy finish.

Botle. Light banana/clove aroma. Yellow color with some cloudiness but not as much as most Hefes. Crisp flavor with high carbonation but banana and clove flavor not very strong. Nice palate though. Fairly mild Hefe - nothing special.

Sampled at Fässla Unimpressive aroma, or at least it did not register over the cigarette smoke. Pale cloudy yellow, creamy white head Mapkin malt, almost no banana but light lemony notes, (somehow this does not fit a german hefe). Herbal flavors retronasal. Lightish body. Watered down hefeweizen.
