From tap at the brewpub. Pours cloudy dark orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is breadish malt, slight roasted. Fruity, bitter and roasted malt flavoured. Light bitterness coming through. Lingering fruity into a bitter and dry finish, fruitiness provides a sweet impression however.

Draught at the brewpub. Darker than usual Austrian Maerzen, a light to medium brown with a slight reddish tint. Slightly malty nose. A fairly heavy body, with a medium malt taste, not over the top, but reasonably strong. Very good hopping, though, is what makes this beer special. Mine should have been a touch colder, I think, but it was very interesting. The most hops I have tasted in a beer of this style. Not great, as it needed a bit more malt, but very good.

Cloudy copper color; creamy head. Light malt aroma. For some reason it’s colder than the others. There is a light caramel flavor and some malt. Balanced but easy.

Draught @ Salm. Hazy mid brown with good white head. Sweet slightly fruity aroma. Medium body and well carbonated. Mildly malty with hint of fruit foretaste developing steadily more maltiness with hint of bitterness. Ok, but fairly nondescript.

On tap at the brewpub. Deep amber in colour with a foamy off-white head. Malty aroma with some fruity, plenty of dough and some grassy hops. Flavour had some red fruit and caramel, a touch of bready malts and a decent bitter finish. Good.

Mild, fast lasch malziger Antrunk. Test vom 27.8.2008, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 11,8,8,4,-,5 - 6,42

Clear amber color, small steady offi-white head, lace. Very light caramelly malty nose. Harsh malty, but same time also a bit sweet - I suspect unfermented sugars like in many of Salm Bräu’s other brews too. Vague hints of woody hops.

Light amber. Heavily carbonated with a long lasting head. Slightly acidic aroma that includes malt. Malt flavor as well ,but this is a bit light; but still good.
