Partizan are killing it now. This is aging impeccably. Like Bons Voux.

Sampled from the tap at Churchkey. Pours a cloudy gold with a peach hue an a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a lot of lime with a grapefruit bite and a touch of Belgian yeast. Flavor has more of a sweet grain note with sweet lime and Belgian yeast and a slight grapefruit bite in the finish.

330ml bottle, during a Rainbow Project 2015 Tasting with blackhaddock. Pours hazy gold with thin white head. Sherbet, lemongrass and honey aroma. Taste is smudged vanilla fudge, some yeast and lemon citrus and with a soft, sweet finish. Kaffir lime is there. Quite light and fresh.

9th Nov 2015: bottle shared between three as we did ’The Rainbow Project 2015’. Poured a hazy golden colour with a thin and weak white head. The nose was typical Saison and sour like: yeasty, farmhouse yard odours and citrusy. The taste also followed traditional Saison flavours, sour and yeasty: yet with some sweetness in the background. I like to think I did find some Lemongrass within the taste but there is so much sourness in the mouth the grapefruit and lemon flavours are overpowering. So, tart but with a semi-sweet underbelly are my thoughts on this beer.

Bottle at home in London - many thanks to Matteo for sourcing from Beavertown. Pours unclear gold with a frothy white head. Definitely some zesty fruits in the nose, some lime, lemon, orange. Light to medium sweet flavor with notes of pithy grapefruit, biscuits, bread, lemon peel, pine, straw. Medium bodied with active carbonation and velvety texture. Finishes with a bit of piney bitterness, oily citrus peel, more zesty lemon and lime, touches of bitter straw and grass, more pale wheat bread, very mild lemony tang. Overall, it’s an interesting beer, and it certainly delivers on its ingredients list. Personally, I prefer with any ’zest’ character is an accent, rather than the dominant characteristic. Good stuff.
