Sure I added this one (that’s my pic), and then rotted it in the cellar for years. What’s the point? Anyway, this was from Hop Hideout in Sheffield when they first opened, I think literally the first day. Pours a fairly still, very dark, chocolate brown. No head. Nose has a load of woody, slightly peaty whisky. Some chocolate orange. Rich cocoa and earthy, bitter coffee. Some linseed oil. Wax jacket. I’m going round the bend. Taste has well balanced boozy sweetness, and rich, woody, tangy bitterness. Smooth on the palate. Very fine carbonation. Touch of alcohol burn. Rich bittersweet finish. Actually this has held up well. Thought it’d be gravy nonsense.

330ml bottle [#538]. Jet black colour with fully lasting, small layer of macropore brown bubbles. Dark malty aroma with notes of leather, molasses, oak, underlying hints of treacle and vanilla, a spicy alcoholic touch. Taste is slightly sweet dark malty, chocolately, BA notes in extenuated mode, mild hints of leather and oak; dark chocolately finish with subtle sweetness. Soft, smooth palate, oily texture. Good but not outstanding.
