Harking back to the Porters of mid 19th Century London, our Porter is brewed with a traditional malt bill of pale, brown and black malts to create a rich flavour and dark colour. This modern exploratory interpretation of a classic favourite is sure to age gracefully.

Bottle at home. Aroma is roasted malt, lots of dark chocolate, powdery cocoa, roasty coffee. Flavour is above moderate sweet and medium roasty bitter. Body is medium, carbonation is a bit much and got annoying especially immediately after pouring the beer. A bit of a shame, because the aroma and flavour are both excellent.

Draught@Panema, Helsinki. Black colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, some floral and dried fruity tones. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, some slight alcohol sweetness, figs and some floral tones. Quite a big bitter bite in the finish, but otherwise the hops are rather well hidden.

Key at Mother Kelly's SE1. Bitter cocoa aroma with some underlying off fruit. Dark. Off-white head form a ring with an iddle island. Initial sour edge bitter sting. One the mouthfull goes down some creamy chocola comes through. Gradually smooth out but maintains a bite. Light-medium bodied. Creamy. Tingly average carbonation. Dry astringent finish. For a trad Porter not at all what I was expecting.

330ml bottle. Pours almost black with a large beige head. Aroma of roast malts, dark chocolate, burnt coffee. Taste is similar, very roasty, dark malts, chocolate, coffee, caramel, light sweetness and bitterness. Medium bodied, lively carbonation - too fizzy for my liking. Solid porter just too high on carbonation to really enjoy this.

Bottle from Offie & Toffee. A great pour with a surprisingly large head that had a very pretty golden hue. The nose was all roasted malts and the same went for the taste. It was like a roasted and bitter malt explosion in the mouth and I loved it! The alcohol was forward, but it acted to balance against that strong malt. The senses were really enveloped by the taste and the mouthfeel and this was more of an experience than a beer. It was intense and I wouldn't have wanted another one, but I did enjoy this!
