Our Urgose is the revival of the old Märzen-Gose tradition, but with new twists: to the traditional barley, wheat and oat malts and coriander we add Swiss Stone Pine cones, fine Ceylon Cinnamon, and smoked salt from the thousand-year-old Halle saltworks near the brewery. Finally, extra doses of aromatic Hallertauer Perle and bittering Taurus hops round out this unique Märzen-Gose. This seasonal specialty is brewed only once a year and is available regularly in February.

Tap at Maly/Velky. First off, I do not taste half of the special ingredients listed. That said, it might not be a bad thing actually. It is a very well balanced beer. Moderate body, med-high carbonation. Light biscuity toasted malty presence, hops in the background. Limey-citrusy character, med-light sourness, cleanly lactic. All works well together. Very good.

Bottle. Pours clear deep gold, medium creamy white head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is lemon, sea air, lime, cucumber. Flavor is light tart, light plus salt. Medium body.

Bottle. Clear deep golden color with white head. Aroma is sea salt, zirbe indeed, a touch plums, wheat, a touch smoke. Taste is sea salt, a dash yoghurt, wheat, a touch caramel. Silky mouthfeel with foamy carbonation. Good!
