Cask at the Old Cross Tavern, Hertford on 1st August 2018. Rated as a novelty ale. Hazy amber with shallow white foam and almost no lacing. A mild gin and floral hop aroma. Touch of lime citrus in-mouth, followed by a grassy finish over light caramel malt.

Handpull cask at the Sir Isaac Newton, Cambridge. Mid-gold with a filmy, spotty white head. The intense ginny note in the aroma quickly fades, leaving grainy and slight buttery notes. I like the taste - it’s got the gin without being OTT - and it sweetens the beer. Short finish with light malty aftertaste. The gin really works here, however my concern is that it’s being used to mask a sub-standard base beer. I want more to start with, and for the gin to be a bonus.

Cask @ Turl’s Green, Bradford. Clear blonde ale with a thin head. The gin influence wasn’t too apparent, it just came across as a high bitterness bitter, but not a bad one.
