A revival of a historical light and dry cider made for quaffing whilst you work the fields! At only 3.8% ABV you can keep your head and thirst at bay. This is made from many varieties of apple including Discovery. The pulp is soaked before a second pressing to extract the remaining juice. Often a cloudy cider, it has good flavours despite being lower strength (in the “real cider” bracket).

Bag in a box @ Stable Birmingham. Pours murky unclear pissy yellow. Mushy apple fruit aroma. Taste is smooth, weak apple with lightly coarse tongue-sucking action and a slight tangy prick on the finish. A bit mucky, lacks clarity.

50 cl bottle @ PBF Ⅸ, BBE 01.05.2017
Aroma is sour with lactic notes and hints of apples. Flavour is sour with lactic tones, some earthy notes and green apples. Rather unusual cider; instead of apples this has lactic sourness.

At the Southampton Arms, London 25/03/10. Pale hazy gold in colour. Aroma of apple cores and bruised fruit. Light apple flavours, with a touch of spice and medium dry finish. Ok, but a bit subdued all round.
