Cask at Brunswick, Derby. Pours almost black with minimal cream head and good lacing. Aroma is mainly malts plus a little vague fruitiness. Roast malts again in the mouth, plus humbug sweets, liquorice and traces of treacle and toffee. Some fruitiness in the finish. Not bad at all.

Gravicask at The 14th Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival, first day. Shared with Finn. Bubbly beige head leaving scattered lacing on the glass. Jet black body. Aromas of smoothly roasted chocolate malts. Honeyed chocolate flavours joined by liquorice followed by a rounded, roasted finish. Medium bodied. Tasty. (Nottingham 12.10.2022).

Cask at Doncaster Beer & Cider Festival 2019. Black brown colour with reddish tinge, biege foam bubbly head and aroma of malt, bready, roasted. Taste is dark malty, roasted, chocolate, coffee, earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy roasty bitter finish. Quite OK

7/6/2019. Cask at the 28th Doncaster Beer Festival. Pours almost black with a bubbly beige head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, dark fruits, nut and charcoal. Moderate sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily and watery texture, soft carbonation. Quite traditional and enjoyable.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2018, day one, 04/12/18. Black with a well presented tan covering. Nose is tangy fruit rinds, spice, liquorice, light smoke. Taste comprises stewed fruits, plummy notes, light roast, cocoa sprinkle, dried fruits. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Ok stout.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Light malts. Little fruity dark chocolate. Mild tang. Some berries and a touch of berries. Light finish. Tidy.
