Creamy tan head stayed well on a jet black still body. Nutty, roast & malt aroma. Medium bodied, smooth on the tongue with a lively clean back. Malt, demerara, berry, spices, nutty, roast & lightly smoked tastes. Proper Stout!!

Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm. Near black. Chocolaty nose with a whiff of dark berries. Mid sweet with light-medium body and crisp, rounded mouthfeel. Some caramel and chocolate. Mid bitter finish. Harmonious.

Cask-conditioned at the Shambles Tavern, York 22 January 2017. Dark brown in colour, with a slight, beige, head. Plain chocolate, toasty malts, a touch of coffee character before a dryish finish. Enjoyable.

Cask. Head of Steam, Leeds. Clear, very dark red. Thin, lasting, beige head. Red fruits. Quite nutty. Taste is mostly dry, with some lactic sweetness. Thinnish palate, but smooth. Mostly dry finish, with a lick of treacle sweetness. Hint of bitter on the close. Decent.

Cask @ The Angel, Manchester. Dark red with a creamy, slightly off-white head. Has a burnt roasted malt aroma and taste. Quite a gritty ale.
