Bottle from HOTM. Pours a clear dark brown, with small off-white head. Aroma is nutty, roasty malts, brown sugar, light floral hop. Taste has less nuttiness and more chocolate compared to aroma but broadly the same. Not picking up much if any orange peel listed on ingredients which is a shame. Clean tasting, easy drinking. Decent overall.

Bottle with Saturday lunch because why not! Lovely rich and dark colour in the glass with some lacing. The taste and mouthfeel is that of a dark beer that is well made and very pleasant. Maybe slightly over carbonated, but a perfect lunchtime pint.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours clear, red-brown with a small, foamy tan head. Light-medium sweet flavour with notes of toasted bread, some whole grains, a little earth, leaf, dried berries. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with more dry, toasted malts, earth, a little English yeast, hint of dry toffee. Tasty stuff overall.

Fluffy off white head on a dark brown body. Nutty, roasted & malt aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a tingle down the throat & clean aft. Chocolate, liquorice, malt & roasted tastes with fruity finish. Nice easy drinking Pint.

Appearance: deep copper with a two finger tall beige head of decent retention. Aroma: caramel, floral hop, honey, distant orange peel. Taste: light sweet and light to medium bitter. Caramel, meadow flowers, citrus fruit, herbal hop. Mouth feel: light plus body, average carbonation. Summary: a decent ale.

Bottle online from ‘The Trembling Madness’. Pours a clear deep Ruby colour with a medium sized off-white head. Aromas of dark fruits, roasted malts, caramel, toffee, chocolate, brown bread and a little brown sugar. Taste has more dark fruits, caramel, roasty notes, brown bread and chocolate. Earthy hop bitterness on the finish. Nicely balanced. Medium to full body with a smooth oily mouthfeel. Nice winter beer.

Danke an minutemat. Trockener, röstmalzig herber Antrunk. Süffig, steigend bitter, geringe Würzigkeit. Das Röstmalz steigt an, unterliegt aber der Bitterkeit. Nett. 9/10/10/11/9/10
