Our Cornish interpretation of a ‘Saison’ or ‘Farmhouse Ale’ traditionally produced on the farms of southern Belgium. It is brewed with a blend of barley, wheat and oat malts, then gently spiced with ginger, lemon and lime zest. It has a hint of cinnamon and is fermented with a special strain of ‘saison’ yeast to deliver a beer that is assertive but refreshing with a peppery spice and a refreshing citrus finish.

Bottle from Tesco Supermarket, Borehamwood. Golden with a thick frothy-bubbly head, in part due to a fair carbonation that's a little too active in this brew - could be lesser. Nevertheless the Belgian yeasts and flavours from this saison are pretty good with banana and bubble-gum evident in both its aroma and taste. The advertised spices have a low influence.

Bottle from Tesco. Golden in colour, with a rocky, white, head. Aroma of floral hops, sharp citrus and white pepper. Flavour had yeasty fruits, grainy malts, a hint of spice, leading to a dryish finish. Enjoyable.

18/7/2019. Bottle shared at the South West tour bottle share. Bought at Tesco, Port Solent. Pours clear bright pale gold with a small foamy white head. Aroma of citrus, yeast, hops, lemon and lime, flowers, banana and lemon washing up liquid (not meant in a bad way). Medium sweetness with light bitterness and a hint of tartness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation. Nice, and a decent beer to bring up Cornwall 100.

Bottle from Tesco, drunk at home. Lemon yellow and hazy with a large loose white head. Coriander and sweet, spicy ueast notes in the heady aroma. Taste is quite sweet but short of sickly, with honey lemon drops and bready notes near the long finish and through to the aftertaste. Medium body and carbonation. Simple but very nice.
