Launched as Best Bitter with the opening of the Ringwood Brewery in 1978. Awarded Bronze Medal at the Munich Beer Festival in 2005. The brewery was bought by Marston's (later Carlsberg-Marston's) in 2007. Rebranded as Razorback in November 2015. Production moved to Banks's in Dec 2023 when the Ringwood Brewery closed, and then to the former Marstons brewery in Burton on Trent in 2025.

500ml bottle: BB 28th Feb 2019. Poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard at home on 20th Mar 2018. Chestnut/mahogany body, clean and clear looking, fast fading off-white head. Watery stuff with some red fruits and malts in both the nose and taste. Disappointing, I will not be buying the t'shirt which was on offer on the rear label of the bottle!

Bottle. Clear amber colour. A moderate creamy off-white well-lacing head. Malty aroma. Buscuit, caramel, bread crust. Minor esters. Light body with lively carbo. Bittersweet taste. Dry enough. Malts and grassy hops. Very thirst quenching. Decent bitter.

As a "Best Bitter". Cask at the Isle of Wight near Atlantic Ocean. Pairing with Calmari. Fajne, miedziano-herbaciana barwa. Z pol cm piany, smakowo mnostwo goryczki w tradycyjnym brytyjskim stylu, zero slodowosci i nieco opiekanej, mocno zrumienionej skorki od chleba. W aromacie czarna herbata, oczywiscie bez mleka:)

Clear medium amber good frothy off-white to beige head, half-way lasting, fair lacing. Aroma roasted malts, caramel, raisins. Taste medium sweet and bitter, roasted malts, caramel, brown bread. Dry malty caramellish sweetbitter aftertaste, bitter finish. Light body, watery texture, soft carbonation, rather rough malty bitter, quite nice actually.

500ml bottle. Pours reddy orange with a medium head. Aroma is boiled sweets and dark berries. Taste has boiled sweets, tea and caramel. Some dark berries. Brewed to a price. A low one.

Bottle from Asda. Amber in colour, with a tight, off-white, head. Light, ripe cereal malt aroma, with a touch of caramel and leafy hop. Easy drinking, with a malty flavour, slight fruitiness and moderately bitter finish. Solid, if unexciting, drinking.

Bottle from Booths Supermarket, Media City, Salford. Clear copper with a small bubbly-frothy head. Lightly malty and very easy-drinking session bitter.

50 cl. bottle @ hoe, bought @ Lidl Culemborg Clear light brown with an off-white head. Lightly roasted malts, caramel, biscuit and some nuttiness. Taste is medium bitter. Surprisingly full bodied for such a low ABV. Nice gentle bitter.
