Monty’s 65 Golden Ale was created to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Guernsey’s Liberation. It’s our tribute to two great men; General Montgomery whose Rolls Royce Silver Wraith will be taking part in the celebrations & our own indomitable Monty Randall. Perfect to quench your thirst, the golden hue is complemented by an aroma filled with delicate fruity scents. Enjoy with a range of foods, such as lightly spiced curry or roast chicken.

Tap at Prince of Wales. St Peters Port. Pours dark copper with a tan head. Malty aroma. Med body. Flavor is hoppy and malty. Maybe a bit spicy. Refreshing after a long walk to and through Castle Cornet.

Keg at the Yacht Inn, St Peter’s Port Guernsey. It pours clear amber with a thick off-white head. The nose is soft, sweet fruits, apple, honey, caramel and preserved lemon. The taste is crisp, clean, bitter, lemony citrus, brown bread, wood, toasty grain and leather with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. As keg golden bitters go its alright. Not bad.

Keg, halfpint, as Randall’s Monty’s, at The Last Post, Guernsey. Copper colour, low white head. Moderate aroma, some caramel and nuts. Distinctly nutty flavour, also caramel, but not very sweet. Moderate hops in the finish, some bitterness in the aftertaste. For a keg ale, this is not too bad.

Tap @ The Yacht Inn, St. Peter Port. Smooth and slightly bitter beginning. Fresh, but not too sweet. Easy to drink with on the one hand nice malty bitter aroma, on the other a slightly sweetish Golden Ale taste. The aftertaste is smooth, slightly bitter, malty with sweetish Golden Ale hints.
--> Interesting combination of Bitter and Golden Ale!
