Cask @ Smithfield Market Tavern, Manchester. Black with an off-white creamy head. The vanilla is very stated in its nose, less so in its taste, but still dominant. It provides a fruitiness alongside some light roasted malts.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Clear, dark, cola brown. Slim halo of tan head. Nose has milky, chocolate cereal. Vanilla pod. Notes of milky coffee. Hint of smoke. Taste is fairly sweet, with a little vinous tang. Light to medium body. Pretty smooth. Light, tangy bitter finish. Very drinkable, other than I kept picking up a vegetal aroma and flavour throughout, that didn’t seem right, and I couldn’t ignore.
