ABV: 4.6%. Clear dark brown colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dark malt, wood, oakl. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, roasted, dark malt, woody - earthy, oak, smoe chocolate - coffee - roasted malt. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20200123]

From wooden cask, third shared with Finn at Manchester Beer & Cider Festival, Wood Bar. Almost black in the glass, bubbles on the surface, scattered lacing. Mild smell of roasted malts. Malt-driven taste with earth and dark chocolate, discreet touch of rum. Roasted endnotes. Satisfying. (2nd day of the festival, 23.01.2020).

Cask-conditioned at the Gryphon, Bristol March 2015. Near black in colour, with a decent, off-white, head. Toasty malts, sweet dark fruits and brown sugar, some plain chocolate and moderately dry finish. Enjoyable.
