500ml bottle: BB 28th Feb 2022. Poured into an Abbot Ale pint glass tankard at home with lunch on 21st May 2021. Brown bread with Bavarian Ham and Pickle Sandwich is the lunch. Mahogany red/brown, tanned foam on top. Malty nose, well carbonated body. Roasted malty flavour with a coffee like twist as it warms in the mouth. Obviously the alcohol content doesn't give it the richest or deepest body depth and it is a little 'thin', but I enjoyed it and as I might have to drive later this afternoon it's a perfect beer to have with me sarnie!

500ml bottle from BM Bargains - Cola like body, short lasting fizzy head. Nose has a malty start, a bit earthy, taste is quite clean and watery with a caramel undertone. Fairly light going.

500ml bottle. Opaque, mahohany colour with ruby shimmer and average, frothy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Sweet-ish, minimally sugary, caramel malty aroma with hints of malt lozenge and a touch of cola is almost irreproducible after the first sip and turns equally to earthy, leafy, almost fungous; hints of forrest soil. Taste is slightly bitter, earthy, leafy, dark malty, hints of soil, black tea, forrest soil, whiffs of liquorice, a very cautious, sweet-ish touch of milk chocolate. Watery texture, minimally dry, soft palate, medium, soft to flat carbonation. Adequate Mild but not overly tempting.

Pours a clear dark reddish brown, large creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of toasted malts and chocolate. The taste is toasted malts, herbal hops, tea, citrus.

Bottle from the local Lidl. Brown with a frothy head. Aroma is about how I remember Scotland—peat bog and woodsmoke—with caramel thrown in the mix. Somewhat restrained, but pleasant. Taste is bittersweet and mild. A mix of toffee sweetness and (smoked) grainy bitterness. Body stays fairly light, carbonation mild, texture watery. Pleasant and with good character despite the style and low ABV.

Schwierig, optisch echt gut, in der Nase leicht röstig, im Geschmack dann sehr zurückhaltend, Leichtbier halt. Ist okay, aber eben nix halbes und nix ganzes.

0,5 l bottle from Lidl. A darkest red brown with a two finger pale beige head in the glass. Malty smell with some sweetness. Taste starts also malty, little bit toasted, nuts, soft sweetness. Low bitterness. Thin structure. Not bad for that abv.
