Bottle split at the optimal climatic conditions tasting, Hazlemere, thanks to Leighton 11/08/21. Rich mahogany brown with a good sized beige cap. Nose is toffee, dried fruits, biscuit, brown sugars, dark malts, light spice. Taste comprises fruit cake, toffee, bitter sweet bite, glazed fruits, dark malts, dates. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid BW with a good bitter edge to balance out the sweetness.

Bottle shared at Cloin's - picked up from an online dealer. Pours a little unclear deep red-brown with a small, foamy khaki head. Really nice, rich malts, hearty toasted sugars, lots of stewed semi-dark fruits, raisins, prunes, cherries, figs, plums, dates - the works. Also some brown sugar, fruitcake, bread. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, more densely packed malts, lots of fruity accents, toffee, hefty fruitcake. Quite rich. An excellent sipper.

Tasting at Chez Cloin. Thanks to Tips. Light haze on this amber beer, bubbly pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth sweet malts, a minor creamy sweetness. Marmalade and citric peel hops, rich. Mild spice and some dank ripe fruits coming through on the back end. Decent straight up BW, will hold up for a few years yet.

Bottle. Nose is rich candied fruits, toffee, brown sugar, very fruity, apple, toffee apple, hint of pear drops. Taste is brown sugar, syrup, malt, pear drops, sugar, sugar and more sugar. Hints of strawberry, touch of marmalade, and hop bitterness, but the overwhelming taste is brown sugar and syrup. It really strongly reminds me of JW Lees Harvest Wines, which makes sense given the Manchester Connection, to the extent I think it's deliberate. But I think it suffers the same issue of over sweetness of that beer. I'd probably like it far more after a half decade or so in the cellar.
