Full bodied, traditional-style mid-brown “best” brewed from 100% English barley malt and copious English Challenger and Boadicea hops, which shine through.

Cask at the Cask Pub & Kitchen on 21st October 2009. Clear amber with white head dissipating but leaving initial lacing. "Juicy" and thirst quenching. Malty aroma then delicious burst of malted fruit and hop leaving a fairly bitter finish. For a 3.5% the beer is very flavoursome having been kept at its best by the pub.

Cask at Dronning Louise, Esbjerg. A hazy dark golden beer with a huge cream colored head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of straw and brewmash. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel as well as lighter notes of alcohol and metal - is the metal due to the fact that the cask has been open for 3 days? The finish is bitter and metallic.

From cask at Charlies. Pours clear and golden orange with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma is mild fruity hops and also light butterish. Flavour is mild sweet and light orange/apple fruity. Mild caramel malt flavour and slowly building bitterness. Citrus fruity and bitter finish.

Cask condtioned handpull Evening Star, Brighton. Copper colour with thin off white head. Fragrant hop, very much in the Crouch Vale style. Easy drinking, bit watery in mouth, then tremendous hp finish. Grassy, fragrant and biting. Good to see someone doing a boys bitter, however the hops on this are a bit excessive I think.
