Cask at the Wharf. A clear, amber beer with a small, off-white head. Rather weak aroma, with a maltyness in the back. The palate is smooth and medium bodied, with a nice bitterness. Nuttyness and some caramel, as well as citrusy, slightly grassy hops. Lasting bitterness. A quite decent one, but I can’t really see myself drinking it all night long. 110417

Warning! Early amateur rating! On tap at the Sun Inn, Kelvedon. A big dissapointment after the Amarillo, probably got these the wrong way round. Watery palate and flavours that still manages to be bitter. Not much going for this.

(Cask at Castle, Chancery Lane, London, 24 Nov 2010) Dark amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of orange, dried apricots, hints of caramel and earthy hops. Malty, fruity taste with dried fruit, orange, toast and earthy hops in a finish with a decent bitterness. Rather light body, with balanced sweetness. Very tasty and highly drinkable. Nice one.
