This winter ale casts aromas of toffee and sweet grains. With a poetic balance of traditional American and English hops, roasted barley and chocolate malts we’ve created a flavorful dark ale that offers up hints of cocoa, coffee and molasses.

Pours dark brown with a thick creme head. Aroma of roasted malt and earth. Taste has distinct woody notes as well as some resinous pine. Palate has dark earthy notes that are complimented by the malt backbone. Nice brown ale.

Bottle from the brewery. Looks like cola with deep brown colour and a beige creamy head, nicely lasting and creating creamy lacing. Roasted malts nose with coffee notes, nuts, chocolate and even dark fruits. The taste has sugar, not too sweet because of the hops. Mild burnt malts, chocolate malts and some nice grass in the finish. A nice brew all-around that seems almost more like a stout than a brown ale. A good winter ale.

12 oz. bottle. Aroma is mild chocolate, weak coffee, mild roast. The flavor is decent for a brown ale. Mild roast give light chocolate light backbone with hints of vanilla and charred malt. The body is almost medium with a near creamy texture. Not bad considering the brewery but nothing to go out of your way to get, obviously.

Bottle pour into shaker pint glass from Cigarette City. Appearance is clear, dark reddish-brown with trace sparkle, ephemeral cap of fizzy beige head and no lacing. Aroma is brown bread, hint of vanilla. Taste is bittersweet roasted malt, ash, nuts, molasses, mild vanilla. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin, watery texture, average-to-lively carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, nothing offensive but much to it and the roasted malt is too far to the ashy side. Skippable.
