750ml bottle. Tart, slightly funky and sour with some vinous oaky notes, fruits and hints of yeastiness. Pretty refreshing and nicely balanced

750mL 2019 vintage, drunk 8/20/22. Good clarity in this blonde-to-light-amber beer with a small, white head showing moderate retention. Pretty straightforward mix of lactic-acetic acid with fruity brett, cherry, caramel-to-honey-like malt. Fruity, tart, clean, maybe a bit maltier than I'd like, with still somewhat aggressive acidity. For three years old I'd expect more mildness from the cultures. Still, it's fine, no problems. In the mouth it's richly, thickly wheaty with tart acidity leading to sweet cherry, light caramel, moderate vanilla and fruity, cherry-heavy brett notes. Malty, medium-full body, a bit aggressive/unrefined acidity and strong barrel tannin, though no remnants of the Chardonnay. Clean and no alcohol, but honestly quite pedestrian. Not exactly a hot take, but I'm sure this would be about .5 points lower if it didn't have the Side Project name. Maybe in 5 years this will be better? Would certainly happily test that theory.

Flaska från Side Project, vintage 2017. Klar, guldfärgad med vit krona. Rejält med citrus, citronskal, pomelo, funk, fat, lätt vitvinskaraktär, bra med syra.

2018 Version. Pours unclear blonde, small white head. Scent is funky, less refined than the Oude Fermier I had besides this one. Mild oak, mild wine. Taste is full, tart, malty, pronounced oak, less wine forward than the fermier. More pronounces tartness. Lovely, but remains deep in the shadows of Oude Fermier.

Bottle. Pours clear pale golden, small fizzy white head, hints of lacing. Aroma is bugs, lemon, oak, hints of stone fruit, tannin, basement, mineral water. Flavor is light plus tart, light funk, bright, lemony, clean. Light body, sporty carbonation. Quite lovely.
I'm torn cause I want this as easily available as 3F gueuze but I also want the fancy wax and the golden glow it gives off when you take it out of the fridge. Damn fantastic saison, side project yeast profile at its peak.

Bottle 750 ml, at Arrogant Sour tasting. Courtesy of Frederico. Hazy yellow orange with small white head. Citric, peach, grapes, lots of funk, barnyard, vinous, some barrel. Smooth texture. Medium to heavy sourness. Medium bodied.
