Strong and complex, our extra special ale contains an array of malts, hops and our english ale yeast to provide the palate with a great depth of flavours including hints of dark fruits, floral and citrus notes from the generous addition of New Zealand hops late in the boil.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell, London, 30 Nov 2014) Amber colour with brief, frothy head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of citrus, orange and apricots. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, orange, apricots, tropical fruit and a balanced citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain malt sweetness. Tasty and balanced with a fresh hop character. Quite nice.

Bottle from Beers of Europe [180115]
Dark copper amber, clear, frothy white head dissipates to thin layer, slight lacing
Aroma of soft citrus hops, slight gooseberry, touch floral
Taste of caramel malts, soft hedgerow hops, bitter zest hops, quite malty, hops more bitter than fruity
Palate - soft carb, medium body, fairly oily, soft sweet, quite bitter. Finish is a bit dry with a bitter zest linger
Overall - OK, but too much crystal malt in this

Bottle courtesy of Baz, (cheers Baz) consumed at Eardisley, Herefordshire Friday 8th November 2013 This looks every bit an ESB. Pours copper in colour, looks good, clarity good, sweet, there is a metallicy bitterness. Solid tasting ESB, quite bitter, but also quite malty. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3
